The rules of cribbage are simple and very easy to learn! Cribbage Corner has everything you need to get started playing the game, and also to help you progress and become a better player.

Our cribbage rules guide starts with the basics, explaining the cards and board used. We then look at the discard, which is an important part of cribbage strategy.

The turn-up follows the discard and begins the playing phase of the game. Players take turns to lay cards and make various scores without taking the total count over 31 (the Go rule). Once all cards are played, the players score their hands (examples). Any points missed during the play can be claimed by the opponent under the Muggins rule.

Finally, the winning player is the first one to reach 121 points.
